Proactive：Datuk Jimmy Choo

Cambridge dictionaries stated the word of proactive can be described as a person who taking action by causing change and not only reacting to change when it happens or in simple word the person  are ready before something happens because they are proactive. An entrepreneur that has a proactive characteristic they know the right time to grab an opportunity for their business which they possess the goals of what they willing to do and work in a directed way to achieve it.

 His name is synonymous with world shoe. He is the one recognized of world famous shoemaker and shoe designer. Datuk Jimmy Choo was born in Penang, Malaysia and he became a Malaysian pride. Since childhood, he already been exposed to the technique of making shoes as his father’s a full time shoemaker. Proactive attitude shown by Jimmy Choo is that he is responsible for making decisions about the direction of his company Jimmy Choo Ltd. He will think what the best for his company and know how to attract his customers by maintaining the quality of shoes that he designed. He serves as a consultant for his company where he needs to consult with external parties on their preferences in order to produce the best designs. Besides, he also gives a personal opinion to the customer’s about which designs suit with the customer’s taste. Indeed, He personally becomes personal shoemaker for Princess Diana during her lifetime.

He also acts as distributor for allocating the resources either to marketing or management section and other parts in the company. Jimmy Choo also acted as an informer for his company. He became a diffuser for the new designs in his boutique, make promotions, offer discounts, special servicing and so on to attract customers. He is also a spokesman for the release of his shoes in the media society. His role as a leader and founder of his company is really important and he has proved it to society when he is the first Malaysian to be awarded OBE awards “Order of the British Empire” from Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II.

A proactive entrepreneur usually has a mature personality to sustain an intentional action in the face of potential influence in the situation as well as in the environment of business. Jimmy Choo is the one who is already set in their mind to take control of the environment around them.

Visionary :Elon Musk

To become a successful entrepreneur, the person must a visionary trait on him because life always begins with a vision. When we talked about the visionary, we know that person is the one who is able to connect their work with a vision of their product that they are likely wanting to produce for the future. They always think to plan about the future with a vision in their mind which that lets them know what will be the outcome of their business venture. According to Cambridge dictionaries, the term of visionary can relate with a person who is able to imagine the future where the person has ability to imagine how the idea in their mind will develop in the future and to plan in a suitable way.

Elon Musk is the one of a successful entrepreneur which is the most suitable example for a person that has a visionary trait. He has been nominated as 15 richest people in the technology industry by Forbes magazine. He is the CEO of a spaceX, CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors and chairman of SolarCity. Elon Musk always detailed about the product he created as we can see since decades, he has built the world leading’s car company. For example, the Tesla motor car produces an electric car which differs from a gasoline gas car. Since college, he always thinks it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary as he approaches the girls in the college his attending, and said, "I think a lot about electric cars. Do you think about electric cars?” From that moment we know that Musk already has vision what he able to do in future generation. Musk visionary as creator Tesla is he and his company want to create the most captivating car company of the 21^st century by driving the world’s evolution to mass electric vehicles as soon as possible. At the same time he also a founded aeronautics company SpaceX with their vital goals is wanting to bring solar energy to the masses with the goal of flying people in space.

Visionary people like Elon Musk unstoppable sometimes their idea might sound an impossible to reach it, yet it helps a society to accept the innovative idea which indirectly helps to generate a product that benefit for mankind.

            Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs are two different things. Entrepreneurship has been discussed by several  philosophers and have got some similarities in their theories. Overall, entrepreneurship had been the approach in terms of economics, sociology and psychology. In theory and model of entrepreneurship in economic terms, Alfred Marshall had defined entrepreneurship as an evolutionary process of life from the early stages of a business to continue to outstrip the market. According to the sociologist, Max Weber has put the religious elements as the basis for success in economic activity. According to sociologists, the McClleland  have given the theory that an entrepreneur is a person who prefers to achieve some target by their own effort. Entrepreneur industry indeed contributes to the economy of our country. The attitude of entrepreneurs who are brave and willing to take high risks has opened a new business. Innovative thinking and sophisticated belongs  by entrepreneurs also opened a numerous of job opportunity  in the society.

       An entrepreneur is a person  who collects resources, creative, innovative, and analyzing the situation to enlarge the business. In addition, the orientation of the entrepreneur is differed to the businessman , they are willing to burden  a greater risk to get large capital for growing  their business. As a simple example-Steve Jobs, the creator of the I-pod, I-pad- and I-phone. He is a man who exploits his innovative thinking ways to invent the product and also make the I-pod beyond to Walkman.  Nevertheless, the researchers had been observing a lot of entrepreneurship. They can discover a few of similarities on them such as self-esteem, futuristic, outcome oriented, proactive and many more.

     In the end, the young generation should be motivated to realize their own entrepreneurship characteristic.Thus,  they should be more confident and work hard to improve the economy of the country by discovering the new market in global.
